I am a registered nurse with experience in dealing with critical medical events and I have recently expanded my care skills to include equine first aid.

I have ridden for as long as I can remember but my first real learning started in 4-H with Roger Laybourne as my light horse leader. I have taken clinics and lessons from Vickie Braun, Bonnie McCutcheon, Charmayne James, and many more. Some of my most valuable memories are from being a part of the Ghost Riders drill team and being a part of the group of local girls that started the SBRA that grew beyond our borders and exceeded any of our expectations. The years of barrel racing and team roping and team penning forged friendships that will last a lifetime and more recently mounted shooting has become a sport that Lionel & I can enjoy together.

I have loved the world of competition, and at the same time I have also grown to love the serenity of trail riding, traveling, and seeing new things. Lionel and I are so pumped to share our new adventure with you!

Lionel works as a truck driver and pasture manager. He was a competitive team roper for many years. He started as a healer and then quickly moved to the heading side where he proved himself to be very proficient. Now he spends as much time as possible in the mounted shooting arena.

Trigger

Experience

Trigger has been a traveler since birth. We got him from friends in Arizona but he wasn’t big enough to come home with us when we had to leave so he traveled to South Dakota with another friend and we picked him up there.

He came home to live with us and our other dog Banjo, a yellow lab that accompanied us on all our rides long and short. Banjo also loved to travel and be a trail dog. Unfortunately we lost Banjo when Trigger was only 2 and yet he learned so much from his big mentor.

Trigger is happy to clear the trail for us anywhere we go and his best day is every day we saddle up and go for a ride.

Camping

Brenda & Lionel started out camping in a small stock trailer, then enjoyed a few years in a living quarters trailer and currently camp more outside than inside, but regardless of the style, the experience is priceless.

Qualifications

Between the two of them, this couple has plenty of experience traveling with their horses, competing in team roping, barrel racing, team penning and more recently mounted shooting along with the more routine pasture work with their horses.

In addition to equine experience, Brenda is a registered nurse with emergency experience and more recently expanded her skills to become certified in equine first aid through Equi-Health Canada.

They intend to do all they can to ensure you a safe and enjoyable horse vacation.
